Who We Are

Fresh Start-South is a start-up non-profit organization designed to assist communities in rebuilding and strengthening the unity amongst the community. Within the last 5 years, Caldwell county's poverty rate increased from 20% to 40%. That is almost 50% of the population is living in poverty. Fresh Start-South has partnered with South Caldwell High School to develop an awareness of the need within the school. Our objective is to stop the social and personal downside of being challenged to purchasing name brand clothing as their fellow classmates. In addition, stopping the hunger of students during school and afterschool. Fresh Start-South will be the bridge between the school and the community.  Fresh Start-South will plant a discount clothing store within the school for all students to shop with the option for financially challenged students to shop for free. Also, Fresh Start-South will enhance South's already created food bank.

How to Help

Businesses, churches, other non-profits, and individuals are welcome to support financially, donations of new to gently used ( up to 1 year old) name brand clothing, shoes and accessories, and volunteers. We ask each business or organization to assign a representative to be the contact person for Fresh Start-South. We will host informational meetings to update you on South's progress, additional opportunities and future plans.

Mission

Latest project

With the rise of bullying, suicide, drug usage, peer pressure and depression, the founder of Fresh Start-South realize a lot of these issues with teenagers come from the confidence of the appearance of the teenager. Teenagers are always concerned about what style of clothes they are wearing, how they look in them, and what do their peers think about their outfits? Many students don’t want to come to school because their clothing may not be in compliance with other students. Students are picked on because their clothes are not name brand or worn down due to the inability to purchase new clothes or being able to afford name brand items.
